How many frames is your browser actually pushing?

Run a live FPS check, watch the number move, and see how your browser renders under load. Adjust the stress level to find where performance starts to fall off.

What counts as good FPS

Frame rateWhat it means
24 fpsFilm-standard motion, the rate movies have been shot at for decades.
30 fpsConsole baseline; playable, but fast pans can show visible blur.
60 fpsWhere most game engines and monitors set the smooth bar.
120 fpsPaired with 120Hz+ panels for noticeably snappier response.
144+ fpsThe territory competitive and esports setups aim for.
240 fpsChasing every millisecond of input lag in twitch shooters.
02

Compare FPS levels side by side

Choose two frame rates and watch the same motion at each setting. The difference is easiest to see when your display refresh rate is at least as high as the FPS you select.

Left30 FPS

Individual frame steps are easier to notice.

Right60 FPS

Motion looks smoother on a 60Hz or faster display.

Why this behaves this way

What this frame rate tester measures

This frame rate tester times how often your browser completes a visual update. The live FPS check helps compare browser settings, power modes, and background load on the same device. It does not read a game's rendering engine, so use the result as a browser performance measurement rather than an in-game benchmark.

How to read your FPS check

A stable average and a strong 1% low usually feel smoother than a high maximum with frequent dips. Idle shows the ceiling your browser and display can present. Light through Heavy add more moving particles, helping reveal when CPU or GPU pressure begins to reduce frame consistency.
